This week was a struggle. The amount of work that had to be done and the lack of motivation due to the environment was a troubling combination. What ultimately happened was procrastination, but on the Friday of this prior week, I had sat down and worked 3 and half hours on my original work. That was the most amount of time I had spent on my original work in a day. What I had learned from that encounter is that sitting down, without distractions and working leads to the most productive work session, and is crucial when doing menial work. During that productive time, I had looked into recent personal injury cases in Texas. Seeing rulings and learning about mandamuses was quite informing and helped me understand a lawyer more, as the discussion into what defined extenuating circumstances and things of that nature was what a lawyer had to do. It wasn't that a lawyer had to argue abstract ideas that had little to no relevance to real life, rather it was that a lawyer had to argue about cases in a very real, concrete way that would utilize higher concepts and a solid grasp on the structure of the argument.
