This week, I focused primarily on the Topic Proposal, which made me reevaluate how I went about pursuing ideas and writing those ideas down. In times prior, I took much pride in how I wrote and how quick and how much quality it possessed, but writing for the Topic Proposal made me realize how much I depended on my inner voice in writing, and how sometimes that can hurt how my idea is perceived and the importance of editing whatever I write. When writing, there are times when I am not as precise as I can be, and the sentence can get muddy and confusing, which as a lawyer is something that I should strive to improve on, not staying stagnant on that front. Another thing I realized when writing the Topic Proposal is that I often look at examples, which by itself is not a bad thing, but it does hurt me in terms on structure, as I am sometimes unable to come up with my own structure to follow and end up creating the same skeleton as the examples instead of something that can truly reflect what I write. it is not as if my writing is terrible, but at the end of the process, I do feel like the end work isn't necessarily my own, rather another's words.
