ISM this week wasn't as stressful as I'd thought. The interviews that I did were much easier than I expected and while I did make some mistakes, it wasn't big and the mistakes I did make were small ones like not asking for feedback in the end and saying I'll see you later at the end of my second one. While awkward, it wasn't a memorable mistake and only shows that I need to work on saying goodbye at interviews. My interviews overall were excellent I feel, with my first breakout room being very enlightening with the interviewer giving me information about law and it's scopes and giving me tips on resume building and how it's good to have multiple versions of resume depending on the job, focusing on more important attributes on said job. He also told me to make sure I wanted to be a lawyer, with him citing experiences from colleagues and childhood friends he knew, saying how some of them hated to be a lawyer at the end of Law School, wasting money. My second interview was with a former ISM student who gave me tips on talking with professors and using those connections as recommendations on Law School, with her friends being in law school explaining how great those recommendations can be. My final interview was a brief one, with interviewers leaving due to the interview period going over the time allotted, making to so that there having to be three way interviews. I had less time to give sufficient responses due to the three way interviews, yet I got compliments on how confident and intelligent I looked, which was very uplifting to hear, especially with my debacles when speaking in front of the class. Overall these interviews were very informative and helped me gain more confidence in myself and reaffirmed the idea that I need to let my insecurities go and truly be myself to speak in an intelligent manner.
